From mountain views to waterfalls, the north Georgia region offers something for every couple who wants a getaway elopement with a touch of nature.
State Parks
North Georgia’s state parks are a great option for your elopement if you’re looking for a more affordable location. In most of the parks, you just have to pay the $5 parking fee! Each of the parks below has something different to offer- from mountain views to stunning waterfalls.
Vogel State Park in Blairsville
Vogel State Park is my FAVORITE state parks for elopements. The park offers an easy and accessible location with a stunning mountain view across 22 acre Lake Trahlyta. The walk around the lake is only a mile. This park is beautiful during every season (yes, even winter). There’s also a short trail down to a beautiful waterfall overlook. Vogel State Park really has it all!
Smithgall Woods State Park in Cleveland
Located minutes from downtown Helen, Smithgall Woods is a hidden gem nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains. It’s actually where my husband and I did our engagement photos! This park offers over 5,000 acres of land and 28 miles of trails with lush forests and trout-filled streams, making it an intimate setting for your elopement. This park does require a good bit of walking and hiking to get to the good spots, but it’s absolutely worth it! They also offer 6 fully furnished cottages if you want to stay on site!
Amicalola Falls State Park in Dawsonville
Amicalola Falls offers a stunning backdrop with a large, cascading waterfall that’s perfect for any elopement. It’s actually the tallest waterfall in Georgia! The park recently updated many of their amenities, including the viewing pool at the bottom at the waterfall. While you can hike up the stairs of the falls, there’s an easily accessible, padded walking trail to the main viewing point! There’s also a lodge and restaurant, so you can head there after your ceremony!
Cloudland Canyon State Park in Rising Fawn
30 minutes from the Chattanooga, TN is the beautiful, expansive Cloudland Canyon State Park. This park is one of the more popular state parks for elopements, and understandably so! It offers amazing, expansive views and beautiful waterfalls. Other than the easy Overlook trail, the hikes are strenuous but worth it!

The Limelight Inn in Dahlonega
The Limelight Inn is a boutique inn located close to downtown Dahlonega. They have multiple rooms, 4 beautiful cottages, a pavilion, and a chapel! There are tons of beautiful locations nearby if you wanted to take photos off property, and downtown Dahlonega is full of amazing restaurants.

Lake Rabun Hotel & Resturaunt in Lakemont
Located in the Lakemont, Georgia, not far from beautiful Clayton, is the Lake Rabun Hotel & Restaurant. They specifically offer an elopement package that can be customized for your needs! Built in 1922, the hotel offers beautiful historic architecture with updated amenities that offers a stunning backdrop for your elopement. They have multiple rooms and cottages available for your stay.

Glenn-Ella Springs Inn is a stunning historic bed & breakfast nestled in the North Georgia Mountains. The space offers an escape from the hustle and bustle from everyday life. There are so many stunning photo locations on the property, including their beautiful garden that’s maintained year-round, as well as an array of other local nature spots to visit. This beautifully curated boutique bed and breakfast located in downtown Ellijay makes for an amazing elopement experience. The craftsman home was built in 1915 and has been updated in a way that it maintains it’s charm. With a beautiful wrap around porch, charming patio, and a river view, this B&B is the perfect spot for your elopement.
