Nikita and Tucker got married last spring at Fernbank Museum, and boy- was it a good time!
Their day started getting ready at a beautiful historic home in Virgina Highlands, which is also where they had their super cute first look. It seems that most feel like first looks have to ALWAYS be filled with intense emotion and tears, but reality is…a first look full of excitement and amazement are just as great as any other! You DON’T have to feel pressure on your wedding day for your first look to be performative. It’s YOUR moment and a reflection of the two of you and the love you share. Sometimes that involves tears, sometimes in involves a “holy shit!”, and sometimes in just involves a lot of smiles.
ANYWAY- we eventually all made our way over to the beautiful Fernbank Museum. Tucker and Nikita chose this venue because it held a place in Tucker’s heart and hosted many childhood memories for him. If you’ve never been, you NEED to go! It’s stunning.
We had some wedding party fun before the ceremony and took some couples portraits amongst the trees. They ended up having their ceremony inside the cafe due to a chance of rain, and it was just as beautiful as the rest of the museum.
And after they did the dang thing…they PARTIED! This was definitely one of the hypest receptions I’ve ever had the opportunity to photograph. The dance floor was full the entire time my second and I were there photographing. The food and margs were good, too.
Enjoy!
